State Route 640 is an east-west state highway in the northeastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Known as Vine Street for its entire length, the route’s western terminus is at State Route 283 (Lakeshore Boulevard) in Willowick, passing through Eastlake to its eastern terminus is at the intersection of Erie Street and Mentor Avenue U.S. Route 20 in Willoughby; this is also the northern terminus of State Route 174.

- 1946 – Original route certified; entire route was the former alignment of State Route 288 from 1931 to 1946, and was unnumbered prior to 1931[2].
