Pine Grove, Norfolk County, Ontario

There are other communities in Ontario named Pine Grove. Many locations elsewhere also use the name Pine Grove.

Pine Grove is a hamlet in Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada, near Delhi. Its latitude and longitude are 42°46′48″N, 80°27′25″W

As of January 1, 2007, the population of Pine Grove will be approximately 24-39 households. Construction is underway in the northwest corner of the hamlet and approximately 10-15 more houses (with each house holding approximately 2-6 people) will be built by the time construction is complete. Two houses are already complete and the new residents have already moved in. However, no one else has been buying the land since, so there has not been any new construction in the area for a long time.

There are woods to the north, south, west (currently being surveyed for expansion possibilities) and northeast of Pine Grove, and to the east of Pine Grove is the town of Simcoe. Further south of Pine Grove is Turkey Point and Lake Erie which separates the region from the United States of America, and further north is the sleepy hamlet of Gilbertville and eventually the town of Delhi. Another hamlet which goes by the name of Silver Hill lies to the southwest of Pine Grove. Because Pine Grove is a small hamlet, commerce is rather limited and people need to shop for groceries in either Simcoe or Delhi. Pine Grove contains a gas station, a car repair shop, a seasonal French fry stand that is located next to the gas station, and a reflexology clinic.

In addition to residential roads, there are two main roads that cross Pine Grove. They are Regional Road 1, also known as McDowell Road and Pine Grove Road (formerly known as Delhi Road). Most students here attend Walsh Public School for their elementary/junior high school education and Delhi District Secondary School, Simcoe Composite School, Holy Trinity Catholic High School and Valley Heights Secondary School, for their high school education. Most people have satellite television and while broadband Internet is not yet available in Pine Grove, dial up or extremely expensive satellite internet are the only avaliable forms of connection to the world wide web.
