Queenstown International Airport (IATA: AQN, ICAO: NZQN) is located in Frankton, Otago, New Zealand, and serves the resort town of Queenstown.
[edit] Airlines and destinations
The majority of scheduled flights are domestic, with a few international flights weekly to Sydney.
Weather permitting, there is substantial daily charter traffic of light aircraft (mostly Britten-Norman Islander, Cessna 206, Cessna 172) to Milford Sound and on sightseeing trips. Helicopters are also very active.
Air New Zealand carry out their international operations utilising Airbus A320 aircraft operated by Freedom Air, except for the Melbourne service which uses the Boeing 737-300. Domestic operations by this airline are carried out using Boeing 737-300 aircraft and ATR 72-500 aircraft operated by Mount Cook Airline on behalf of Air New Zealand Link. Qantas carries out international operations utilising Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with Boeing 737-300 aircraft operated by subsidiary Qantas JetConnect carrying out NZ domestic operations.
