Radley Balko

Radley Balko (b. April 19, 1975) is an American libertarian writer, thinker, and speaker.

Balko is senior editor at Reason magazine (October 2006), and formerly a policy analyst for the Cato Institute, specializing in vice and civil liberties issues. He writes on drug policy, obesity, alcohol and tobacco, and civil liberties. He also writes on trade and globalization issues and more generally on politics and culture. He is also a biweekly columnist for Fox News and a regular contributor to Tech Central Station. His work has been published in Forbes, TIME magazine, The Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Slate, Reason, Worth magazine, Canada's National Post, and the Chicago Sun-Times. He publishes a personal weblog, The Agitator, and belongs to the group weblog Liberty and Power. He has appeared on CNN, CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, and National Public Radio.
Balko's work on "no-knock" drug raids was cited by Justice Breyer in his dissent in the case Hudson v. Michigan. He's also credited with breaking and reporting the Cory Maye case.
