A Relic is an item found in the Crash Bandicoot series.

Relics are time artifacts that are generally acquired by completing a level in the required amount of time. They are often used to unlock secret areas. There are 3 variants regarding the time that was took to perform a task: Sapphire Relics are the lowest form, and is the reward if the amount of time was big; Gold Relics are meant for those who are speedy; Platinum Relics are the hardest to achieve, since it requires full skills and concentration in order to achieve a really small amount of time. To aid to the relics, there are Time Boxes numbered 1, 2, and 3 that freeze the timer for the amount of seconds the broken box displayed.
To achieve Relics in Crash Bandicoot: Warped and Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex the player must go through a Time Trial mode. To activate this mode, you must first get the Power Crystal for the level. Then return to the level and touch the golden Stopwatch at the beginning of the level. Some elements change, such as different Crates and the appearance of Time Boxes, which are used to freeze the timer for the amount of seconds displayed on them. The objective of the Time Trial is to finish the level quickly without losing a life.
In Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart, the Relics are acquired in a similar matter to the platform games. The Time Trial mode in the racing titles are selectable after completing a track in Adventure Mode. If the player manages to break all of the Time Boxes, a Perfect Bonus of minus 10 seconds to the time elapsed is given to the player.
In Crash Bash, special modes need to be unlocked. When the Gold Relics are able to be achieved, they are achieved by completing a mini-game twice in a row, against the arena champions. To achieve the Platinum Relics, the player must complete a mini-game thrice in a row instead of twice. There are no Sapphire Relics.
