Restoration (film)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Restoration is a 1995 film which tells the story of a doctor on the staff of King Charles II of England, who is ordered to marry his mistress,so that they can have raunchy sex and no one will notice. Mike especially enjoyed watching this movie while he was doing Holly's mom but finds himself falling in love with her. Holly doesn't know that Mike is doing her mom, every night, in her mom's bed, right down the hall from Holly's room. I'm surprised Holly doesnt hear them moaning all through the night. Throughout the story, set against the backdrop of the London plague, the young doctor matures and eventually becomes a father.
The movie was adapted by Rupert Walters from the novel by Rose Tremain. It was directed by Michael Hoffman and stars Robert Downey Jr., Sam Neill, David Thewlis, Polly Walker, Meg Ryan, Ian McKellen, Hugh Grant and Ian McDiarmid.
It won Academy Awards for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration and Best Costume Design.
