Richard Williamson (born on April 13, 1941 in Fort Deposit, AL) is the current wide receivers coach for the Carolina Panthers and is the only coach to be with the team since the team was founded in 1995. For most of the 2000 season and throughout their 1-15 season in 2001, he served as offensive coordinator. Prior to joining the Panthers, he was the wide receivers coach with the Cincinnati Bengals from 1992 to 1994, and he had a brief head coaching stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he went 4-15 as coach. He also held the wide receiver coaching job from 1987 to 1990, when he was named coach after the firing of Ray Perkins.
He was a wide receiver under legendary Alabama coach Bear Bryant for the 1961 and 1962 seasons before joining Bryant's coaching staff. He then was coach of Memphis State University from 1975-1980.
