Ronni Bar-On

Ronni Bar-On (Hebrew:רוני בר-און) (born: June 2, 1948) is an Israeli politician and lawyer, formerly Minister of National Infrastructure and Minister of Science and Technology, as of May 4, 2006, he is the Minister of the Interior.
In 1997, he was appointed Attorney General, but resigned as a consequence of heavy criticisms related the 'Bar-On Hevron' scandal (a scandal involving allegations against officials that they recommended Bar-On to the position in order to aid criminal elements). In 2003, he became a Knesset member for the Likud. In late November 2005, he resigned from the Likud and joined Kadima. In January 18, 2006, after several failed attempts to pass his nomination in the Knesset, he was appointed Minister of National Infrastructure and Minister of Science and Technology. He will be a Knesset member in the forthcoming seventeenth Knesset for Kadima, following its victory in the Israeli legislative election of 2006.
