Ružomberok (German: Rosenberg; Hungarian: Rózsahegy) is a town in northern Slovakia. It is located on the river Váh.

- Andrej Hlinka, Slovak politician and Catholic priest, one of the most important Slovak public activists in Czechoslovakia before World War II.
- Peter Lorre, actor especially known for playing roles with sinister overtones in Hollywood crime films and mysteries.
- Jozef Vengloš, former football player, manager, and FIFA football expert.
- Ľudovít Fulla, Slovak painter, graphic artist, illustrator, stage designer and art teacher. He is considered one of the most important figures of Slovak Creative Art in the 20th century.

The women's basketball team MBK Ružomberok was successful in European club competitions, it won FIBA cup twice. Ružomberok also has a football team, MFK Ružomberok, playing the highest division of Slovak league - Corgoň liga. In 2006, they won Corgoň liga and also Slovenský pohár.
