Scott Zolak (born December 13, 1967, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) was an American football player who played quarterback in the NFL in the 1990's and played in a Super Bowl. He attended Ringgold High School in the Pittsburgh suburb of Monongahela, Pennsylvania—the same high school where his father had coached Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana. He played college football at the University of Maryland. His eight year pro-career was spent with the New England Patriots, with whom he went to Super Bowl XXXI, and the Miami Dolphins.
ESPN commentator Chris Berman, well known for making puns of athletes' names, once said of Zolak:
He ain't dumb, but he can't understand
Why he walks like a woman, but throws like the man!
This is a parody of The Kinks' song Lola, and a humorous reference to the way Zolak during his playing days would swing his hips effeminately as he walked.
He currently resides in Massachusetts, USA, where he is a co-host of a morning sports radio talk show on WSKO 99.7 FM / AM 790 "The Score" weekdays from 9 A.M.-12 Noon. "The Score" is affiliated with ESPN-Radio and is based in East Providence, Rhode Island. He is also a football analyst for College Sports Television (CSTV).
