Secret of the Scarlet hand is the sixth game in the series of Nancy Drew computer games.

Nancy Drew has been recommended by a friend of his dad, Franklin Rose, and fortunately chosen to be the deputy curator of Beech Hill Museum located in Washington D.C. The said museum is devoted to the Maya culture. The museum will be exhibiting a monolith to the public. But the museum received negative criticism before the exhibition because of a the finest and beloved ancient piece the museum treasured, the jade carving of King Pacal's head, was stolen. Nancy been appointed to investigate the crime since the police can't have nice reports of the crime.

Alejandro del Rio - attaché at Mexican Consulate.
Nurse Bluefoot - nurse of Henrik van der Hune at Eleanor Roosevelt Hospital when Henrik gets amnesia, an unseen character.
Prudence Rutherford - is a woman who owns one of the Pacal jades and also an unseen character.
Poppy Dada - an artist whose real name is Penelope Daddle, also an unseen character.

Within Secret of the Scarlet Hand and all ND games there is a number mistakes or accidents you can make like falling down some stairs or setting something on fire. Don't worry use second chance if you make a mistake.
Here is a list of the mistakes you can make:
Get electrocuted by HAM radio.
Dropping the calender stones.
Not using your glowstick to get out of the tunnel.
Not getting out of the monolith in time and suffocating.
