Selby is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

[edit] Boundaries
The constituency covers the district of Selby and the southern suburbs of the city of York. It includes the University of York and the Drax and Eggborough power stations.
[edit] Boundary review
Following their review of parliamentary representation in York and North Yorkshire, the Boundary Commission for England has created a new seat of Selby and Ainsty. The new seat will lose the southern suburbs of York to the (also newly-created) seat of York Outer.
