Ali Rıza Sergen Yalçın (born October 5, 1972) is a legendary Turkish footballer born in Istanbul, Turkey. He plays as an Attacking Midfielder. He has an exceptional talent and technique. He is noted for the quality of his crossing, passing, dribbling, superb ball control, feints, shooting and ability to hit free-kicks and corners. Due to his extreme playmaking skills he is nicknamed Maestro. He has played most of his career for Beşiktaş. He is one of the greatest players to play the game of football but unfortunately due to his careless life-style he couldn't be as famous as players like Zinedine Zidane, Gheorghe Hagi, Diego Maradona etc. Yalçın is capable of turning on the style and bamboozling the most resilient defences almost at will. In addition to his passing and playmaking skills, he has scored more than 100 league goals in his career, and joined the elite cast of 100+ scorers in the Turkish League, placing his name among legendary players like Tanju Çolak, Metin Oktay, Hakan Şükür, Aykut Kocaman and Feyyaz Uçar. He was named 89.9 Sergen FM, after he scored in 90th minute against Fenerbahce in 1996. He was the hero of Besiktas fans. He was known the most talented player in Turkish soccer history.
