Slap, Pop & Tap For The Bass (1987) is an instructional video from the production company Hotlicks, by electric bassist Stuart Hamm. The video is a casual lesson given by Stuart Hamm, dealing with finger stretching, arpeggios, chording, slapping, popping, and tapping on the electric bass.
The video also showcases Stuart Hamm's talent in a few solo pieces, including a classical piece, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. This was part of Stu Hamm's typical solo shows during Joe Satriani's concerts. The title refers to the action of "slapping" and "popping" the strings on a bass guitar to produce different note styles, notably used in disco and funk.
