South Granville Rise

South Granville Rise (also known as South Granville) is an upscale Business Improvement Area (BIA) south of Vancouver's downtown core and bordered by the neighbourhoods of Kitsilano, Fairview and Shaughnessy.
Separated from downtown by False Creek, the area runs along Granville St. from Granville Island up an at times fairly steep rise to 16th Ave, where the shops are replaced by the residences of Shaughnessy.
The South Granville Rise area, as well as being a fast-growing neighbourhood of residences, shops and restaurants, is also known for being home to a number of art galleries and the historic Stanley Theatre, built in 1930.
