Springdale is a city in Washington and Benton counties in Arkansas. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 60,096[1], making it the fourth most populous city in the state.
The special census' results mean that Springdale is now Arkansas' fourth-largest city, behind Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Fayetteville.
Springdale is the location of the headquarters of Tyson Foods Inc., the largest meat producing company in the world.
Springdale has been dubbed the "Chicken Capital of the World" by several publications.
In 2008, the Wichita Wranglers of the Texas League will move to Springdale and play in Springdale Stadium. [1]

Springdale is located at (36.181426, -94.145920)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 81.1 km² (31.3 mi²). 81.1 km² (31.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.03% is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 45,798 people, 16,149 households, and 11,853 families residing in the city. The population density was 564.9/km² (1,463.0/mi²). There were 16,962 housing units at an average density of 209.2/km² (541.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 81.62% White, 0.82% Black or African American, 0.94% Native American, 1.69% Asian, 1.55% Pacific Islander, 11.09% from other races, and 2.29% from two or more races. 19.66% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 16,149 households out of which 38.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.2% were married couples living together, 10.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% were non-families. 22.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.26.
In the city the population was spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 10.7% from 18 to 24, 31.4% from 25 to 44, 18.7% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.4 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $36,729, and the median income for a family was $42,170. Males had a median income of $27,822 versus $21,082 for females. The per capita income for the city was $16,855. About 8.8% of families and 12.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 16.7% of those under age 18 and 7.9% of those age 65 or over.
