Steve Torpey born December 8, 1970 in Islington is an English football player.
Steve Torpey has been a member of the Scunthorpe squad since signing from Bristol City in February 2000. He became Scunthorpe's record transfer signing, costing £175,000. The 6'3' target man managed to break the ten goal barrier in each of his first five seasons at Scunthorpe and has represented the club over 250 times. Scoring only once in the 2005/06 season, Torpey looks to be firmly in the twilight of his career and his status as one of the first choice strikers is increasingly being threatened by the upcoming forwards Andy Keogh, Billy Sharp and new signing Ramon Calliste. On the opening day of the 2006/07 season, Steve Torpey was sent off against his former club, Bristol City.
