Stockholm Skavsta Airport (Swedish: Skavsta Flygplats) (IATA: NYO, ICAO: ESKN) is an international airport located 100 km south of Stockholm, Sweden in the municipality of Nyköping.
The airport was established as a military air base in the 1940s and developed into a civilian airport in 1984. It serves low-cost airlines and cargo operators. For a short period in 2005, Finnair flew from Boston to Helsinki with a stop at Skavsta, but the airline has since moved the route to the larger Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. [1]
Travel from the airport to Stockholm Central Station may be done via Flygbussarna, a private bus coach service, and takes approximately one and a half hours. Tickets cost SEK 130.
