Sugarplum Fairy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sugarplum Fairy are a rock band from Borlänge, Sweden. The name, Sugarplum Fairy, comes from the Beatles song called "A Day In A Life" where John Lennon counts in with "one, two, sugar-plum-fairy, sugar-plum-fairy". This version of the song is not heard on the album release, but can now be heard on the 1996 release "The Beatles Anthology" which features unheard version of many Beatles songs.
The band has released several demos before getting contracted in 2004, releasing the EP Stay Young, that received generally positive reviews. Later they released their first single, "Sweet Jackie", from their first full length album "Young & Armed" that was released later that year. The band toured heavily in Sweden, Japan and Germany, and released the debut album in different editions in both Japan and Germany in early 2005. In 2006 they put out their second record "First Round First Minute".
Apart from their music, the band is also famous for the fact that the two singers in the band are brothers of Gustaf Norén, singer in Mando Diao.
On this note I can add that the Sugar Plum Fairy is also a caracter in the ballet, the Nutcracker.
