Ta Dun(蹋顿) was the territorial chief of Wuhuan and Liaoxi in the northern part of China during the later years of the Han Dynasty. Ta Dun later allied with Yuan Xi and Yuan Shang, the surviving sons of Yuan Shao, who were defeated and driven to the far north by Cao Cao. Ta Dun and the Yuan brothers fought several battles with the pursuing Cao armies and Ta Dun was killed in battle by Zhang Liao. The Yuan brothers then fled to Liaodong for refuge.
