The Hot Corner
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hot Corner is a student section at the University of Arizona that resides in section 13 of "Jerry Kindall Field" at "Frank Sancet Stadium." The Hot Corner's name resides from the location of the section, which is along the third baseline, for which a slang baseball term for third base is the "Hot Corner." The Hot Corner aims to cheer on the Arizona baseball team, along with heckling opposing teams, in an attempt to render them "rattled." The Hot Corner was started in 2003 season by University of Arizona students Ben Mann, Joel Monson and Sara Katauskas. Members of The Hot Corner can be distinguished by their cardinal red t-shirts that display the "The Hot Corner" on the front and on the back contain the entire home scheduele. The Hot Corner's t-shirts were first bought by The University of Arizona's Head Baseball Coach Andy Lopez, now however, the Zona Zoo buys the t-shirts, and they are distributed by the current leader of the Hot Corner.
The Hot Corner is also a part of the much larger student section which encompasses all sports at the University of Arizona, the Zona Zoo.
