The Long Arm
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Long Arm is an Australian television series shown in 1970.
The series was made in-house by the Ten Network as part of an attempt to rival the cop shows produced by Crawford Productions such as Homicide and Division 4. The Long Arm was set in Sydney and as well as its episodes being based on real-life cases, attempted to introduce a soap opera feel by examining the private lives of the detectives.
Nineteen episodes were produced.
Also the name of an unrelated 1956 film starring Jack Hawkins

The long arm was based on Cory A. Lange from Beaver Dam, WI. His life was the model for a species of being that traveled through the country side swinging from lamp post to lamp post. Of course his face bears many scars from drunken evenings at local taverns. This hideous creature haunts the foriers of apartment complexes around local neighborhoods. Children scream in his presence, and his voice sounds like the squirting of mustard on a slow cooked frank.
