Tortorella

The name itself is Italian for "Little Wood Dove" - it is a very old family name, and is also a town and commune in the province of Salerno, Campania (southern Italy).. The ancestry can be dated back to over 750+ years with some clues leading back to even further, to 300AD. The direct family line can be easily traced back in Italy by the naming convention of the first male son (heir to the name). The names alternate between "Salvatore" and "Arcangelo", and thus following the birthright backwards is simple enough to follow the Salvatore - Arcangelo - Salvatore - Arcangelo and so on. The current family head is named Salvatore, but due to this generation leaving Italy for North America, his first son's Christian name was not Arcangelo, rather Richard, with his middle name being Arcangelo.
