Townsend Coleman

Townsend Coleman (born May 1954) is an American actor. Among his most notable roles are Michaelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Wayne Gretzky on ProStars, the voice of the title character on The Tick, the speaking voice of rock star Riot of the Stingers on Jem, Gobo in the animated version of Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock, the voice of Scott Howard on the animated Teen Wolf and many others. In commercials, he was the 7-Up "Spot", Keebler Elves and Raid Bugs and is the voice on NBC's "Must See TV" comedy promos and Tonight Show promos for Jay Leno. He has also provided the voice for Jason Whittaker on the Focus on the Family radio drama Adventures in Odyssey since 1994. Townsend Coleman was also a disc jockey for WGCL in Cleveland, Ohio in the late 1970's, including doing on the weekend of July 7-8, 1979 on that radio station his own take on American Top 40 when the station refused to air the "Top 40 Disco Songs" special for that weekend.
In the late 1970s, Coleman appeared in several plays through Jerry Leonard's Heights Youth Theater ensemble. The plays were staged at Wiley Junior High School in University Heights, Ohio — just down the road from John Carroll University. Other famous folks who appeared in Jerry Leonard's plays include actress Carol Kane.
