[edit] Separate company, or Nissan-only brand?
I googled quite a bit for this, but couldn't figure out if it was a separate company before joining up with Nissan. It looks like Nissan used this as a brand name at least as far back as 1973 though [1], so I updated the article quite a bit to reflect that. --Interiot 21:32, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Because this page explicitely says that "UD Trucks" started in 1972 in Miranda, New South Wales. Also, both the Australia page, and the currently linked "homepage" both refer to Nissan as being something of a parent to UD Trucks, so they don't seem to be unrelated. I'm not sure which one is the most accurate here, but with what little data has been brought up so far, it doesn't seem like 1985 is the right date. If you have some information to clear this up, please post it. --Interiot 06:22, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
