Ulrich Roth (born December 18, 1954 in Düsseldorf, Germany), also known as Uli Jon Roth, is a guitarist. He is also considered as one of the pioneers of the neo-classical metal genre.[citation needed]

In the early 1970s, he joined a band called Dawn Road. In 1973, he joined the rock band Scorpions, which guitarist Michael Schenker had left to join UFO. Until 1978, he was the lead guitarist and one of the main songwriters for the Scorpions, in which time they released five albums, including the live album Tokyo Tapes, which sold almost one million copies. When he left Scorpions in 1978, he formed his own band named Electric Sun with which he released three albums.

- 2006 - Sky Academy at UCLA - Saw Uli teach his approach to the guitar. Uli Jon Roth and friends concerts were part of the Academy and saw Uli perform with many guests including Jeff Scott Soto, Chris Impellitteri, Joe Stump, Graham Bonnet, Robbie Krieger and many others.
