Unified Cornish
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Unified Cornish (Kernowek Unyes) is a variety of revived Cornish. Founded by Morton Nance, it derived its name from its standardisation of variant spellings. Most of the older generation of Cornish users alive today would have started under this system.
In the 1980s, Unified Cornish came under heavy criticism, leading to the creation of Kernewek Kemmyn and Modern Cornish. However, a number stayed with Unified, and in the 1990s, yet another schism emerged when a new form of Unified Cornish "amended"/"revised" or "amendys" was set up, mainly by Nicholas Williams.
