Uvira

Uvira is a town in the Democratic Republic of Congo, located at 03°26′ S 29°08′ E and at the north end of Lake Tanganyika. It has a major port at Kalundu which provides links by boat to Kalemie, and to Kigoma in Tanzania.
The town is linked by road to Bukavu, and also to Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi.
Uvira is a Roman-Catholic diocese, within the archdiocese of Bukavu.
