Victoria of Valois, (June,1556 – June, 1556) was the last daughter (along with her twin sister, Joan of Valois who was born to King Henri II of France and his wife, Catherine de Medici.
Catherine's last confinement (for the birth) came on June 24, 1556. It produced two twin girls, Joan and Victoria, who died almost immediately. Their birth very nearly cost their mother her life also. Because of this, the king's physician advised the king that there should be no more children; therefore, the king stopped visiting his wife's bedroom from that point forward. He spent all his time with his longtime mistress, Diane de Poitiers.
