[edit] Line breaks

The template was recently modified to force a line break in a logical spot. While I agree that the spot is logical, where the line breaks depends on the size of your screen, and I think it's okay not to force a break when some screen sizes (mine) can fit the whole thing--it looks very nice without breaks. I reverted the change, because forcing breaks to accomodate certain screen sizes seems bad to me, unless it's just really bad on certain screens. NickelShoe (Talk) 19:09, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Current Month and Year

Why not put {{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}} in the template? --GeorgeMoneyTalk Contribs 18:18, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

By my logic, that would hard-code the month and year into the template; meaning it'd always be the month and year where it was added until edited. Editing would also cause all non-substituted templates to change. The only way to do something similar to what you said would be to put {{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} and {{CURRENTYEAR}} into the template, and subst it into the pages so that the month/year doesn't change with time. Fine as it is, I say... --Laogeodritt 16:20, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wfy instructions.

Instead of having the link to wikify pointing towards the glossary, it might be more informative if people were sent to WP:WIKIFY or WP:WWF as there are always people asking what the tag means. --Brad101 05:13, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

I concur, an alternative would be to leave that link and to change the MOS links to the wikify project page. Something like:

Please wikify (format) this article or section as suggested in the Wikiproject guidelines and Manual of style.

That makses the guidlines / advice more obvious and still provides access to the definition!! --Errant Tmorton166(Talk)(Review me) 18:13, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Brad, the problem isn't that the user doesn't know what the tag means. The problem is that the tags are often in articles where we can't figure out that they mean in context. If you put a wikify tag in an article, and it is wikified, a visit to the manual of style isn't going to help. We need taggers, yourself included, to put comments in the talk page explaining precisely what the problem is and how we should fix it. Or if you know what the problems are, just go and fix them. Changing the tag is a case of missing the forest for the trees. Maury 12:19, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
