Zeno of Tarsus
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Zeno of Tarsus, Stoic philosopher and pupil of Chrysippus, belonged to the period of the Middle Stoa. Zeno studied along with Diogenes of Babylon and Antipater of Tarsus.
Zeno's views on Stoicism are unknown, but he succeeded Chrysippus. Zeno himself was succeeded by Diogenes at some time, but the length of his teaching is unknown.
He appears to have accepted all the Stoic doctrines except that he denied the final conflagration of the universe.
