104th Street is a skip-stop station on the New York City Subway's BMT Jamaica Line. It is served by the Z train during rush hours and the J train at all other times.The south exit at 102nd Street is closed but the mezzanine and the stairs to the street and platforms are still present. The north exit at 104 street has a clad wooden crossover mezzanine with concrete floor and windscreens half-way up the stairs from the platform. Until 1966, this station was known solely as 102nd Street. After that, the station had the dual name of 102nd–104th Streets, but the "102" portion of the name has recently been dropped from station signs. Changes to the mezzanine configuration caused the station name changes.
The 1990 artwork here is called Five Points of Observation by Kathleen McCarthy.
