[edit] Stores
Concord Mills opened in September of 1999 with over 200 stores. Its major establishments include Circuit City, Bass Pro Shops, Burlington Coat Factory, and Books-A-Million. Concord Mills is largely comprised of factory outlet stores for companies such as Old Navy, Nike, and Nautica.
[edit] Entertainment
At the center of the mall is a large food court that offers a variety of options ranging from typical fast food to a more traditional sit-down atmosphere. The mall is also home to a movie theatre operated by AMC, which at twenty-four screens is the largest theatre in the greater Charlotte area. There is also a Dave & Buster's, a Jeepers and NASCAR SpeedPark, a huge indoor-outdoor complex. The Speedpark is comprised of six huge go-karting tracks, a climbing wall, and a games/prizes facility. There is also an Indoor NASCAR Simulator, called Silicon Speedway.
[edit] Layout
The mall is designed in the shape of a race track. The circuit intersects itself only at the food court.
There are seven "neighborhoods" to the mall, each with its own entrance and distinct theme. For example, Neighborhood 5 is garden-themed, featuring a rustic green palette and stores like Earthbound Trading Co., while swanky Neighborhood 3 is called Fashion Court and showcases the OFF 5th Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet, a less pricier version of the famous department store, run by the same company.
[edit] Surrounding area
Simply a forest lining Interstate 85 in 1999, the area surrounding Concord Mills has quickly grown. Concord Mills Boulevard, the main road that runs alongside the mall's property, is lined with dozens of restaurants, stores, hotels, and car dealerships, with new establishments being added on a regular basis.
