Espinho (pron. IPA: [(ɨ)ʃ'piɲu]) is a city and municipality in Portugal with a total area of 21.1 km² and a total population of 32,177 inhabitants, and 30,249 electors (2006). The city is a reputed beach resort and a zone of legal gambling with a casino - Casino Solverde. Its fair - Feira de Espinho is well known in Portugal since ancient ages. The city is home to CINANIMA - Festival Internacional de Cinema de Animação, an international animation festival.
The municipality is composed of 5 parishes, and is located in the District of Aveiro.
The present Mayor is José Barbosa Mota, elected by the Socialist Party.
The municipal holiday is June 16.
