The Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority Police Service polices TransLink in Greater Vancouver, the only transit authority in Canada to have its own police force.

Before December 2005, the GVTA had police forces in the Lower Mainland patrolling on the system. In 1993, the then BC Transit introduced security officers hired from a private firm to police fare control. This force consisted of 20 SkyTrain attendants and eight special transit constables.
On December 5, 2005,[1] the GVTAPS was created, consisting of armed officers with full policing powers.

As of November 2006, the GVTAPS force has 93 officers[2] with an average of 18 years of experience.[3] The most senior officer is Robert Kind, Chief Officer of the GVTAPS. The GVTAPS reports to the Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority Police Board.
