Iakovos, Archbishop of America

Iakovos Archbishop of America (July 29, 1911- April 10, 2005)[1] was the Greek Orthodox Archbishop of America from 1959 until his resignation on 1996. He was born on the island of Imbros. He died in Connecticut.
As it has been announced, the School of Pastoral Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in co-operation with the Institute for National and Religious Studies of Thessaloniki, Greece, will publish a book which will contain the inedited correspondence of Archbishop Iakovos with Presidents of the United States of America and other famous personalities from the United States, Greece and abroad. The correspondence, which includes various information about the national issues of Greece, from 1959 to 1996, is going to be published during 2006.
