Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb is an action video game developed by The Collective and published by LucasArts in 2003 featuring cover art by Drew Struzan. The game is a new adventure of fictional archeologist Indiana Jones. The story is set in 1935, just before the events of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and is available for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Macintosh and Windows.

Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb begins in Ceylon where Dr. Jones is surpirised in his search for the idol of Kouru Watu by Nazi, Albrecht Von Beck, who is revealed through dialogue and the game's manual to have been stalking Jones prior to the game's opening. Fighting for his life, Indy dumps Von Beck into a lake with a a raging albino crocodile and returns to America and his classroom.

Back at school, Dr. Jones is visited by Marshall Kai Ti Chan, an official in the Chinese government, and his assistant Mei-Ying. They tell him about The Heart of the Dragon, an enormous and flawless black pearl buried with the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huangdi, and that evil forces are trying to steal it. Jones decides to go for the item (and the glory of being the first man in the history of the world to enter the tomb) and is given his first assignment: to find the two remaining pieces of The Mirror of Dreams (the first having been secreted inside the idol he earlier recovered) that will help him navigate through the Emperor's Tomb.

Making his way both to a Nazi-occupied castle in Germany (where he battles a hulking Franken-Nazi hybrid) and then to the tomb of Belsarius in Istanbul (where he battles a kracken) to locate the other two pieces, Indy meets up with Mei-Ying who warns him of Marshal Kai's true intent: as head of the Black Dragon triad, he wants the mirror to locate the pearl for himself to obtain its power.

Now in Hong Kong, at the Golden Lotus Opera House, Mei-Ying and Indy wait for a smuggler named Wu Han, a character also in the film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. After Marshal Kai's Triad henchman engage Indy in a brawl of western fisicuffs versus eastern martial arts, Wu takes Indy on a rickshaw ride down to the docks where they discover that Mei-Ying is being taken hostage back to the Nazi's base on Marshal Kai's private island. Indy boards Wu's junk and they set sail.

Once there Indy continues his explorations and finds that the only way to get to the other side of the island (and to Kai's fortress) is by way of gondolas for which he must disgusise himself as a Nazi to get clearance for. While in his search for a costume, he overhears a meeting in which Von Beck is angry at Kai's inability to kill Indy and it is implied that Kai has teamed with the Nazi's only in order to find the mirror's pieces, they being unaware of his plans of betrayal. Finally Indy gets his disguise, and, despite being discovered, makes it to Kai's fortress where he begins the search for Mei-Ying. Trying to free Mei-Ying, Indy falls through a trapdoor and battles the reanimated corpses of dead chinese Triads in order to get a weapon called the Pa-Cheng. Finally getting back to the temple proper, Indy discovers Kai using the mirror to cause Mei-Ying to become possessed and must battle to free her, which he does.

Indy and Mei-Ying make their way to the Emperor's Tomb and find it crawling with Triads and evil spirits. During their journey, Indy gets separated from Mei-Ying and ends up in a terra cotta maze. Once there, Indy hears a familiar voice over a loudspeaker: Von Beck in a drill-equipped tank. He pursues Indy through the maze until Indy swings to safety over a bottomless chasm. Indy sees Von Beck and the tank drop off the edge and fall into the pit where all that is heard are screams as Von Beck plummets endlessly to his death. Moving on, Indy sees a portal.

He runs into it and finds himself in the Netherworld. Indy finally gains entrance to the Black Pagoda, and finds the body of Qin Shi Huangdi. Jones takes the Heart of the Dragon from the emperor's mouth and the corpse comes to life laughing evilly while Indy flees from the crypt, pearl in hand, before dropping to the ground because he cannot control its power. Kai appears and takes it, while Mei-Ying comes to rescue Indy so together they can confront Kai.

Kai, using the power of the pearl, summons a dragon to battle Indy who uses the Pa-Cheng to knock the pearl from his hands, causing the dragon to vanish. Indy and Mei-Ying flee the underworld as Chinese spirits drag a screaming Kai to the underworld while the pearl rolls off into oblivion.

Back at the opera house in Hong Kong, Mei-Ying congratulates Indy but tells him that she still has work to do dismantling the Triad. Indy passionately kisses her, causing her to say that she can wait a day before resuming her work while Indy slips his arm around her waist and they begin to walk away. Wu Han reminds Indy that they have a job to find the remains of Nurhachi for Lao Che (thus the opening of Temple of Doom), to which Indy replies that "Lao Che can wait."
