[edit] Trivia
- A Quick Stop convenience store in this town (located at 58 Leonard Avenue, just north of Route 36) was the main location for the movie Clerks., directed by former New Jersey resident Kevin Smith. The same store was also used by Smith in his films Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks II. It was also part of a deleted scene from his film Mallrats. Adjacent to the Quick Stop is a small video rental shop named RST Video, where Kevin Smith filmed some scenes of Clerks and Clerks II. The store is now closed and only used for storage.[1]
- The town of Leonardo (and its Quick Stop) were also featured prominently in Smith's short-lived television show Clerks: The Animated Series, which ran for two episodes on ABC before its abrupt cancellation in mid 2000. The program's character Leonardo Leonardo (voiced by actor Alec Baldwin) was named after the town, and several of the characters resided and/or worked in Leonardo.
