Madeley Junction
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Madeley Junction is a railway junction between Shifnal and Telford Central on the Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury Line in Shropshire, England. The junction is controlled by Madeley Junction Signal Box. This is located in the "V" where the line from Wolverhampton diverges to the south towards Lightmoor and west towards Telford Central. Its area of control expanded as result of the 2006 resignalling scheme which saw the abolition of Cosford, Codsall and Lightmoor Signal Boxes. Lightmoor signal box will be transferred to Telford Steam Railway to form part of their southern extension.
