PJ Maybe

Philip Janet Maybe is a fictional character in the 2000 AD comic strip Judge Dredd.
The only child of the Maybe's and a relative of the wealthy Yes' (a family of trouser makers), he was also a child genius. As an adult, he became a serial killer; he began by murdering a neighborhood couple, and gradually moved on to killing family members. After being captured by Dredd, he was sent to an asylum.
During the Necropolis storyline, he escaped and fled back home (where he witnessed his parents suicide). Shortly afterwards, he was contacted by a family friend, Mrs Urchison. Her killed both her and her only child, and used the family's face changing machine to alter his appearance. After inheriing the family fortune and killing several more associates, he was apprehended by Dredd as he was heading to Ciudad Barranquilla.
He was sent to Iso Block 666, where he was imprisoned for seven years. He then escaped again by drugging one prisoner and and convincing another he was PJ Maybe. Using the Robot War as cover, he left the Iso Block and attempted to change his face into that of a billionaire named Gunga Dinsdale. Tricked by a back street merchant (who disfigured him), he killed a Judge nearby and fled to Ciudad Barranquilla.
Once free, he stole the identity of Pedro Julio Montez and faked his own death. He went back to Mega-City One to set up a lucrative business deal with the city. This was all subterfuge for his real plan: to kill his six childhood tormentors. After killing five of the six, he realised that Dredd might suspect him. He ordered his robot pilot to drug another pilot to crash into the sixth floor of an apartment block, igniting an inferno.
Shortly after his escape, several ambassadors from Mega City One came to Ciudad Barranquilla. He murdered several members and diliberatly cut himself in front of Dredd, exposing his real identity. He then kidnapped a doctor from Cal-Hab and switched his heart (which was stored in the Black Museum.) He then tricked Dredd into believing he was dead. Instead, he switched bodies with the doctor (leaving him to die in the fire) and changed his identity again. He left for Mega-City One plotting to kill his "Grandfather".
