Ray Jennings

Ray Jennings (born August 9, 1954 in Vanderbijlpark) is a former South African cricketer. He was one of South Africa's leading wicket-keepers during the apartheid era. However, as South Africa were banned from Test cricket during his heyday, he never played a Test.
He achieved more recent notoriety after he was appointed interim coach of the South Africa Test side in 2004. His coaching methods attracted a lot of criticism, and he lost his first Test series against England at home. However, he helped pick the South African squad up from that knock-back to beat England convincingly in the one-day series that followed, and then they had a wholly successful series in the West Indies. However, he was not appointed full-time coach and left his job after that series.
