In the picture you see the stoning of Saint-Stephen, the first martyr of Catholism. Date and artist are unknown, but it must be dated before the 19the century. In 'normal' pictures Saint-Stephen is often portraid with stones in his hand or on his head. Sometimes the stones are covered in blood. These stones refer to his cruel death.
