The Austin Area Terminal Railroad (AAR reporting mark AUAR) is a short-line railroad headquartered in Round Rock, Texas.
AUAR operates a 154.8 mi (249 km) line from Llano, Texas, to an interchange with Union Pacific Railroad at Giddings, Texas, with a 6.4 mi (10 km) branch from Fairland, Texas, to Marble Falls, Texas. The line is owned by Capital Metropolitan Transit Authority, with whom AUAR has had the contract to operate the railroad since April 2000.
AUAR traffic includes aggregates, crushed limestone, calcium bicarbonate, lumber, beer, chemicals, plastics, and paper. In addition, an excursion train operates between Austin, Texas, and Burnet, Texas.
