[edit] Engine #1
Over the course of TTC life, there were actually three engines to carry the designation of #1. We have photos of the first two incarnations, but other than that little is known of them. We know that both were electric locomotives, as seen in the pictures, but beyond that little is recorded of their specifications or history. The biggest question would be where both engines came from, since Pearl didn't build their own trains, instead prefering to buy them from others.
