Antibiotic
From Wikipedia, a free encyclopedia written in simple English for easy reading.
Antibiotics are used to kill or slow the growth of bacteria. It is used to cure diseases. Antibiotic does not harm people. A popular form of antibiotic is penicillin. Antibiotics started to be produced in 1939.
Today, people fear that bacteria do not die from antibiotics, because bacteria are too strong. This can happen when antibiotics are used too much. If they are regularly used, some bacteria may develop an immunity to the antibiotic. These bacteria can then reproduce and make a large colony of bacteria immune from the antibiotic. Antibiotics are not to be mistaken for antibodies.
